My breast cancer diagnosis brought into focus how precious health is. Being in the hands of the local medical community in Michigan helped give me a sense of control and restore my health (along with the support of my family, my clients and my faith)--something that the Siteman team does every day for countless patients and their families in our community.

That experience affirmed that I would rather be in ‘preventive’ mode than in ’treatment’ mode with the medical community. Wellness and well-being have become priorities for me. The investment I make into what I eat, how much I exercise I get, the time I spend in meditation and reflection, the information and entertainment I put into my head--all of that is fuel so I can be the best version of me.

My colleagues at Edward Jones have proudly been involved with the Alvin J. Siteman Cancer Center at Barnes-Jewish Hospital and Washington University School of Medicine since its founding in 1999. We are so fortunate to have a world-class cancer center right here in St. Louis that provides the holistic support – physical and emotional – necessary for there to be more "thrivers" of cancer in the world and our community.
