I was diagnosed in September of 2009 with Stage IV colorectal cancer at the age of 48. At that time the American Cancer Society stated that the five-year survival rate for stage IV colorectal cancer was 6%.
Little did I know that we had world-class cancer care right here in St. Louis, literally in my back yard. I can see Siteman West county from the second-floor windows of our home. I owe my life to the exceptional medical care I received at Siteman.
Ten years later I am still here and work hard to pay it forward. A huge thanks to Sign for Siteman for raising money for cancer research and the world-class care we are able to receive right here in our own back yards.
